Below you can find descriptions of commonly used types of containers.
(*) Dimensions given are about and may vary depending of containers' owner.

• "dry-freight" containers
  designed for general cargo carriage come in several sizes and designs:
  • 20’ with payload up to 28.3 metric tons
  • 40’ both 8’6” and 9’6” high with payload up to 30.4 metric tons
  • 45’ and 9’6” high with a total capacity of 86 cubic metres

• reefer containers
  Designed for carriage of goods (commonly food products) requiring specified temperature and/or other conditions like humidity. Range of reefer containers includes Controlled Atmosphere, Humidity Control, Super Freezers that are capable of maintaining temperatures as low as ÷60°C/76°F.

• flat racks and artificial tweendecks
  Special equipment for heavy cargo which needs special attention and does not fit into a standard container. There are flat racks and artificial tweendecks with lengths of 20’ and 40’, with fixed or collapsible endwalls. This equipment is suitable for top or side loading, and ideal for heavy machinery, pipes, etc.

• open-top containers
  Special equipment for over-sized cargo which does not fit into a standard container. There are open-top containers with lengths of both 20’ and 40’, with removable roof bows, header and tarpaulin covers. The cargo can easily be secured with lashing bars and bull rings.
